The task of the project was to carry out the research of user needs, work practices and environment and based on that - to improve the usability of Housing Enabler Android application for occupational therapists.

Research Phase - Observations and Interviews

The research phase included observations of app users in their work environment as well as post observation interviews with them. The information that was gathered in this phase enabled to understand the user, work practices and provided a solid bases for design decisions.

Functional Requirement Specification

The functional specification that was based on the research findings included items that addressed differences in users and context, dissorientation as well as limitation of the software.

Design process and Axure Prototype

The low-fidelity wireframes allowed to layout the main elements of the app sections and make quick adjustments where needed therefore minimizing the probability of changes in the later stages of the design. Based on the functional specification and low fidelity wireframes an interactive prototype of the next version of the HE app was created using Axure prototyping tool.
